Lewis Carrol

Daresbury Village is a picturesque place and it’s well worth spending a few hours here just wandering around. The village is situated in the lovely Cheshire countryside and is renowned as the birth place of Lewis Carroll who wrote the famous children’s book ‘Alice’s adventures in wonderland’.

The lovely Grade 11* listed parish church has an impressive stained glass window devoted to the life of the author and with the help of Heritage Lottery funding, it has now opened an elegant visitor centre attached to the church which gives an insight into Lewis Carroll’s interesting life.
